Official Rules

The following Sweepstakes is intended for play and participation in the United States only and shall only be construed and evaluated according to the laws of the United States. Please do not enter this Sweepstakes unless you are a legal resident of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia and located in the United States at the time of entry.

Promotion begins 12:00:01 a.m. Central Time (“CT”) on June 30, 2008 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. CT on September 25, 2008 ("Promotion Period").

1. Eligibility: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCE OF WINNING.

Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia age 21 or older. Void in Puerto Rico and where prohibited or restricted by law. Employees, directors, officers and agents of 3M; their respective subsidiary companies, sales representatives, advertising and promotion agencies, and members of their immediate families (parent, child, sibling and spouse of each) or households of any of the above are not eligible for the sweepstakes.

2. TWO WAYS TO ENTER THE RANDOM DRAW SWEEPSTAKES:

A) Go online to www.filtrete.com/healthyhomesweeps and complete the online entry form, including your complete name, street address, city, state, zip code, date of birth (mm/dd/yyyy), email address, plus daytime and evening telephone numbers. Then click on “submit” to enter the drawing. Entries must be received by 11:59:59 p.m. (CT) on 9/25/08. B) On a plain piece of 3” x 5” paper, hand print your complete name, street address (no P.O. Boxes), city, state, zip code, date of birth (mm/dd/yyyy), plus daytime and evening telephone numbers. Mail your entry with appropriate postage affixed, to: Filtrete™ Home Sweet Healthy Home Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 4014, Grand Rapids, MN 55745- 4014. Entries must be postmarked by 9/25/08 and received by 9/30/08. No mechanically reproduced entries or entries via facsimile permitted. Limit one (1) entry per person/household/e-mail address.

3. DRAWING:

Prize winners will be selected in a random drawing held on or about 10/2/08 from among all eligible entries received. An independent judging organization, whose decisions are final and binding, will conduct the drawing. Winners will be notified by telephone or US Postal mail. Odds of winning will depend upon the number of eligible entries received. Limit one prize per person/household.

4. PRIZES/APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE (ARV). One (1) Grand Prize –

A $2,600 House Cleaning Gift Certificate for cleaning service for one year. ARV of grand prize: $2,600. Three (3) First Prizes – One (1) Filtrete™ Ultra Clean Room Air Purifier (Model FAP02) and one (1) Filtrete™ Ultra Clean Air Purifier Replacement Filter. ARV of first prize: $170 each. Ten (10) Second Prizes – A Prize Pack of 3M products including: one (1) Voucher for a free Filtrete™ Allergen Reduction filter (1” or 4”) – ARV $20, one (1) Scotch™ Fur Fighter™ Hair Remover Starter Kit – ARV $10, one (1) Scotch-Brite® Super Duster – ARV $13, one (1) Command™ Small Bath Organization Kit – ARV $10, and one (1) Scotch-Brite® Ultra NailSaver™ Absorbent Scrub Sponge – ARV $2. Total ARV of second prize: $55 each. $2,600 gift certificate is approximately equal to bi-weekly general cleaning services for one year. Prize has a maximum retail value of $2,600 and a maximum term of one year. Maid service will terminate upon the earlier of reaching $2,600 in maid services or one year from the date of the selected winner’s first services. Gift Certificate is not exchangeable or redeemable for cash and is subject to all terms, conditions and restrictions of use as listed on Gift Certificate. Prizes consist of only the items specifically listed as prize. Total ARV of all prizes: $3,660.

5. Prize/Winner Verification:

No transfer of prize allowed. No cash redemption or prize substitution allowed, except as provided herein. In case of unavailability of any prize, Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Grand Prize winner will be required to sign and return affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity releases (where permitted) within 14 days of written notification, or prize will be forfeited. If prize notification letter or any prize is returned as undeliverable, or any prize documentation is not submitted as required by Sponsor, the corresponding prize will be forfeited and an alternate will be selected. Should multiple users of the same e-mail account enter the Sweepstakes and a dispute thereafter arises regarding the identity of the winning entrant, the authorized subscriber of said e-mail account at the time of entry will be considered the entrant. “Authorized account subscriber” is defined as the natural person who is assigned an e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization which is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses or the domain associated with the submitted email address. Winners also consent to the use of their name, voice, and likeness and/or photograph Sponsor, its affiliates, and agents for advertising, publicity and trade purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. By accepting a prize winners acknowledge and agree that Sponsor, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and the employees, officers, directors and agents of each of the above, have neither made nor are in any manner responsible or liable for any warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the prize including but not limited to its quality, mechanical condition, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

6. General:

All taxes on all prizes are solely the responsibility of winners. By participating in this promotion, entrants agree to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges, which are final and binding in all matters relating to this promotion. No more than the advertised number of prizes will be awarded. All submitted entries become property of 3M and will not be returned. Participants waive the right to assert as a cost of winning a prize any and all costs of redemption and any liability which might arise from redeeming or seeking to redeem said prize, or from use, misuse, acceptance or possession of said prize. By entering, entrants further agree that all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, participant’s rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the laws of State of Minnesota, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of Minnesota or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Minnesota. By entering, entrants consent to the jurisdiction and venue of the federal, state and local courts located in Minnesota.

7. Limitations of Liability:

Sponsor and other Releasees are not responsible for: (i) technical failures of any kind, including but not limited to the malfunctioning of any computer, cable, network, hardware or software, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, technology outage, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of entries, whether caused by the sender or any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Sweepstakes; (ii) the unavailability or inaccessibility of any transmissions or telephone or Internet service; (iii) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process, (iv) electronic, clerical or human error which may occur in the administration of the sweepstakes or the transmission, receipt or processing of entries or notification of winners; or (v) any injury or damage to persons or property, including but not limited to entrant's computer, hardware or software, which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant's participation in the sweepstakes. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to terminate, modify, cancel or suspend this sweepstakes if fraud, technical failures including any network server or hardware failure, viruses, bugs, errors in programming, or any other errors or other causes beyond the control of Sponsor corrupt the administration, security, or proper play, of the sweepstakes. In the event of termination, prizes will be awarded in a manner to be determined by Sponsor consistent with state requirements. Under no circumstances, including negligence, shall the Sponsor or the other Releasees be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages that result from the use of or inability to use the web site, or out of any breach of any warranty. This exclusion or limitation of liability will not apply to the extent that any applicable statute prohibits such exclusion or limitation of liability. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, EVERYTHING ON THE SPONSOR’S WEB SITE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. SOME JURISDICTIONS MAY NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES; CHECK YOUR LOCAL LAWS FOR ANY RESTRICTIONS REGARDING THESE LIMITATIONS OR RESTRICTIONS. Any attempt by an entrant or other individual to deliberately damage any web site or undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion, including but not limited to any fraudulent claims, may be a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, Sponsor reserves the right to seek remedies and damages from any such individual, to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. Participant engaging in any of the foregoing activities may be disqualified and will forfeit any prizes won.

8. Winners List:

For a list of winners, send a self-addressed, stamped business size #10 envelope by 10/16/08 to: Filtrete™ Home Sweet Healthy Home Sweepstakes Winners List, P.O. Box 4014, Grand Rapids, MN 55745-4014. Winners list will be sent after all winners have been verified.

9. Release:

By participating in the promotion and accepting a prize, winners release Sponsor, its agents, partner companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotional, production agencies and judging organizations from any and all liability, loss, harm, and including without limitation, property damage personal injury and/or death which may occur in connection with acceptance and/or use of the prize or while participating in or traveling to any price related activity.
